Tarangire park fees at a glance
The fee system has several parts. The conservation fee is paid per person. A vehicle fee applies to the car you drive in with. Guides, walks, night drives, balloon flights and camping have their own charges. Children under 5 enter free, and children from 5 to 15 pay a child rate.
Treat every figure on this page as a guide, because amounts change from season to season. The 2023/24 tariff covers 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, and the amounts set for the 2026/27 season follow further down. Confirm the current amount before you book, and ask whether your safari price already includes park fees.

The resident rate needs a residence or work permit. East African Community citizens show a passport or ID. School and college groups can ask for a group reduction in advance.

Where a dollar and a shilling amount appear together for guides and walks, the dollar amount is for non-EAC visitors and the shilling amount for East African Community citizens. Children from 12 pay less for walks: $10 for a short walk and $15 for a long one. Rest houses, cottages and the park hostel have their own rates; see lodges and camps. For most visitors, the practical advice is to ask for an itemised quote that lists entry, vehicle, guide and camping separately.
How to pay
The ways park fees can be settled.
At the gate
Visa and Mastercard cards are accepted at the gate. Mobile money is another method. Confirm what your gate takes before you travel.
Through an operator
Tour operators can pay by bank transfer. With a package, the operator normally settles the fees for you.
Online
An online reservation exists, and GePG is the government payment platform. No flat online service fee is added.
Fees on a multi-park trip
Each area charges its own fees. Ngorongoro has its own authority and tariff, see the Ngorongoro fees guide. A trip through several areas therefore has several fee lines. A camping route example includes national park fees in the package but leaves out later fee increases.
3 day safari โThe park is open all year and the gates close at 6 p.m. The conservation fee covers 24 hours from entry under the current rules, while the 2023/24 tariff described a day permit of 12 daylight hours and a 24-hour overnight permit. Ask which one applies to your plan. For total trip budgets see safari cost, and for a booked trip start with Tarangire safari.
